一個人在餐廳吃飯是一樣令人感到壓力的事情，他（她）是否很孤單？他（她）是否單身？他（她）沒有朋友？一個人吃飯已經夠壓力了，更何況是一個單身人？有看過The Lobster 的朋友會明白，社會似乎不容許單身，電影中的龍蝦男要在四十五天之內找到另一伴，否則他會被轉化成為一種動物，入住酒店的人假裝他們找到伴侶，即使他們過著彼此欺騙的生活。一個人生活就是不快樂嗎？一個人吃飯就是孤單嗎？兩個人生活，但活不出真正的自己是否更可悲？

在六月我們一起探討這個富爭議性的話題，如果你有看過相關的文學作品或電影，歡迎和我們分享。

『如果, 每一個階段就像一個火車站,

那麼, 我站在人生的中轉站,

還要站多久?』

在電影 里, Mr. Holland 原本是一名音樂家，後來因為某一些原因, 成為了一名高中音樂教師。最後教了超過三十年, 直到退休。有些人來到火車站, 會搭火車去自己想去的地方, 而另一些人卻永遠留了在火車站里。

你的故事又是怎樣? 很期待聽到你的分享, 詩歌及文學創作的節錄皆可。人生的中轉站可以是一個人, 一件事, 一段感情, 一份工作, 一次 working holiday。對於某些人來說, 中轉站是給自己放一次長假, 以迎接新生活的來臨。亦有另一些人, 把中轉站變成了他的生活狀態。

4月30日的星期六下午, 讓我們一起來探索人生中轉站這個課題。也許之後你會發現, 是時侯從中轉站畢業, 展開另一個旅程。然而, 對另一些人來說, 中轉站才是他們這一刻最需要的一個地方。

Kubrick Poetry • March • In the Quiet of the Night

詩人 Poet：Sayed Gouda

There are two books launched by the Hong Kong-based Egyptian poet Sayed Gouda. One is his fourth collection of poetry arranged in seven thematic sections: To the Soul, To Words, To the Night and the Sea, To Beauties Passing-By, To Them, To Life and Death, To the Heart. The book is bilingual in the original language Arabic together with the English translation done by the author. Another one is the complete works of poetry translated into Chinese by Gouda published by Qinghai People’s Publishing House in November 2015. The cover design and the inside sketches are courtesy of the famous Egyptian artist Mamdouh Kassifi.

Sayed Gouda was born in Cairo and emigrated to Hong Kong in 1992 where he currently resides. He did his undergraduate studies in Egypt and China, majoring in Chinese, and received his Ph.D. in comparative literary studies from the City University of Hong Kong in 2014. His research interests include comparative poetics, comparative literature, comparative cultural studies, and prosody studies. Gouda is a published poet, novelist and translator. His works and translations have appeared in Arabic, English, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Macedonian, Uzbek, and Mongolian. He is the editor of a literary website called Nadwah that features five languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, and German (www.arabicnadwah.com). From 2004 to 2010, he organised a monthly literary salon in Hong Kong. He has also participated in many international poetry festivals and academic conferences around the world.

一個人的夜晚,    獨自在上網的時侯,  你會否不自覺的想起從前?

看到衣帽間的新衣舊衣,  窗台上那一堆未看的書,  取捨之間,  會否不自覺的帶着一絲沈重?

那一份來自某年舊情人送的聖誕禮物,   那一封過期的信,  記述着那些年的曾經。

新一年開始,  讓我們在一個星期天的下午,  輕輕地, 勇敢地, 跟過去說再見。

誠意邀請各位帶一至兩首相關題材的詩 (個人創作和詩歌選讀皆可),  與我們一同分享。亦可帶一件象徵過去的物件,  然後與我們分享你跟過去說再見的故事。

詩人 Poet：Vaughan Rapatahana

An anthology of 57 new poems, sometimes code-switched between languages, Atonement is the fourth collection of poems by Vaughan Rapatahana. It reveals the poet’s emotions and imagination about living in Hong Kong for many years, as well as in Philippines, Aotearoa-New Zealand and about his travels to and experiences in many other locales. This book was co-published by MCCM Creations(Hong Kong)  and ASM/Flying Island Books (Macao) in 2015 and also features illustrations by Pauline Wu.

Vaughan Rapatahana lives in Hong Kong, with a house in Aotearoa-New Zealand and also a home in Pampanga, Philippines, where he also frequently travels. He has lived in various parts of Asia for over 16 years. He has had poems published in many publications internationally in recent years. Two collections of his poetry were published in 2011: Home Away Elsewhere (Proverse Hong Kong) and china as kafka (Kilmog Press, Dunedin, Aotearoa) Rapatahana has a Ph.D from the University of Auckland. Currently he has been asked to write up a series of commentary posts for Jacket 2 at the University of Pennsylvania (USA), while he is also slotted to travel to both Australia and England during 2016, to deliver keynote addresses at various forums.
