When we write, often we choose to write in a form that we can freely express ourselves. Liam Blackford has another way of seeing it. He chooses a way that he feels the most harmonious. He finds symmetry and beauty in the form of six, writing poems with six stanzas, six lines per stanza and six syllables per line. He gathers inspirations from daily observation and readings. With imagination, he opens a gateway for you to see another world. Come and join us in his first poetry collection, A Gateway Has Opened. You will have a chance to practice writing in this new form of poetry. 

 

Liam Blackford is a West Australian poet living and working in Hong Kong. He is of millennial age. He was born and grew up in suburban Perth. He has previously lived and worked in Perth and Shanghai. He writes poetry in English and Chinese. He holds a degree in law and philosophy. His poems are written in a fixed form and meter and are concerned with themes of truth and reality, complexity and change, anxiety and rage, and power and control. His poetry collection A Gateway Has Opened was published in 2021 by Proverse Hong Kong with the support of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.

Florence Ng於2021年初為紀念愛貓而創辦《毛寶寶詩刊》(Pause for Paws Poetry Journal)，徵集來自世界各地書寫動物的詩歌文本及其錄音，中英文不拘，於每季（三月、六月、九月和十二月）刊出。
