Sound and Rhyme Poetry Bimonthly has been publishing the works of HK based poets from various language communities since it was founded. Translating poetic works has been an essential part of its projects. The editorial/ translation team of Sound and Rhyme will read some of the works they translated and published. They will share their experience in translating poetry.
We are also happy to have Professor David Lunde and Dr Mary Fung to join us in sharing their experience and know-how in the translation of poetry. David and Mary had recently published A Full Load of Moonlight, a bilingual collection of Classical Chinese Chan Buddhist Poems (Zen poems禪詩). Their previous project, The Carving of Insects (English Translations of the poetry of Bian Zhilin 卞之琳), won the 2007 PEN USA Translation Award.
